Boston Turkish Festival Documentary and Short Film Competition provides a rare opportunity for filmmakers to have a platform in the USA for their films to reach an international audience as well as film critics. The first of its kind organized in North America and celebrating its 10th year, the competition has already transformed to a great tradition where Bostonians are able to explore works of the emerging filmmakers first hand.

Each year more than 200 films are submitted from numerous countries including Armenia, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Holland, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, S. Korea, Nepal, Norway, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, UK, USA, and Venezuela.

After a careful elimination process, more than 40 films will be screened in this year's program at the Museum of Fine Arts, Goethe-Institut Boston, and Boston University.

Members of this year's Competition Jury include:
Peter Keough, Film Critic
Carter Long, Katharine Stone White Curator of Film, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston
Jeremy Rossen, Curator, Harvard Film Archive

In addition to the 'Best Documentary" and "Best Short Film" Awards to be selected by the jury, we will also announce the "Audience Awards". Ballots will be distributed at the beginning of each film screening and will be collected in the end. Therefore, we invite you all 'movie enthusiasts' to come and participate in this fun process!
