Tabu | taboo


Portraying the difficulties that one gay and one lesbian person had to go through while embracing their identities, the film emphasizes their experiences with their families and friends. It depicts how, in society and in religion, homosexuality is considered a sickness or a psychological condition - a taboo which can’t be demolished.

Mustafa YILMAZ

Mustafa YilmazMustafa Yılmaz was born in 1990 in Sandıklı, Afyonkarahisar. He completed his primary and secondary education in Afyonkarahisar. In 2011 he settled in Izmir. He graduated from Ege University Faculty of Communications Department of Radio, TV and Cinema. He received award for production support with his script, “Congolos”, in the 11th Cinema of the Future Script Competition. His script, “Eylül”, received another production support award in the scrip competition organized by the International Bosphorus Cinema Association and Istanbul Media Academy on the 100th centennial of Turkish cinema. He completed its production and film had its premiere, and participated in the competition of the 2nd International Bosphorus Film Festival. As the director of the film, he also participated in an interview on TRT Okul TV channel for the TV program, “Short Film Academy”, after the screening of his film. He continues to work on short films, documentaries, and scripts.
