Şeref is a 60 years old farmer living in Western Anatolia. During the Cyprus landings in 1974, his shadow was spotted which caused him to get shot. When Şeref turns back crippled, his childish nature and restlessness gets out of control. His wife, Asiye leaves him because she can not tolerate his attitude and starts living in another house in the same village. However Şeref still loves Asiye. One day he spies on Asiye while she is doing her laundry. Asiye sees his shadow and makes fun of him. Şeref starts to think that everything bad that happens to him is because of his shadow, so he yells at his shadow saying not to follow him anymore. The shadow wakes up and leaves him shadowless. Şeref and his grandson, who notices that his grandfather casts no shadow, chase after Şeref’s shadow.
