12th Annual Boston Turkish Festival
DOCUMENTARY AND SHORT FILM COMPETITION
November 23 - 28, 2007
at the Harvard Film Archive &
the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

As a part of the 12th Boston Turkish Festival the documentaries and short films selection screened annually within the festival program has been transformed for the last two years into a competition; the first of its kind organized in North America. We are confident that it will transform to a great tradition and Bostonians will be able to explore emerging directors of the Turkish cinema first hand through this competition.

Program consists of competitive and non-competitive sections. We have received many applications for a distinct selection of documentaries and short films from all around the world. The jury has made its selections among many applicants and a total of 24 films will be screened throughout the program.
All films in the competition section are the finalists and will compete for awards that include Best Documentary Film and Best Short Film.

Members of this year's Competition Jury include:

Haden Guest, Director - Harvard Film Archive
Peter Keough, Film Editor - Boston Phoenix
Bo Smith, the Katharine Stone White Head of Film - Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

In addition to the Best Documentary and the Best Short Film selected by the jury, we will also announce the "Audience Awards". Ballots will be distributed at the beginning of each film screening and will be collected in the end. Therefore, we invite you all 'movie enthusiasts' to come and participate in this fun process!
