is an important place for the reproduction of turtles, fishes, birds,
frogs and so many other living species. It is the birthing shore of the
Mediterranean, which has so generously given of himself for thousands of
years to the civilizations that have lived on its surrounding lands.

Behiye U. Yilmaz has
been working as a director, photographer and editing operator in the
National Society for Nature and Cultural Documentaries (DogaBel) since
2003. Yilmaz began working on documentary films with the
documentary, Palas (Tuzla) Golu, in which she worked as editor
and assistant director. It was supported by the UNDP GEF/SGP. Behiye
Yilmaz's photographs have been published in the National Geographic,
YesilIz and Atlas Magazine. Yilmaz currently has a photograph
exhibition at the Dogabel Society consisting of her photographs about
