BOSTON GLOBE - October 31, 2005

This week begins a monthlong celebration of Turkish culture. The 10th annual Boston Turkish Festival features music, movies, and art. Venues such as the Brattle Theater, the Harvard Film Archive, and the Museum of Fine Arts have all teamed up for the celebration. The first highlight of the festival is a showcase of photographs by Cengiz Akduman. "Crossroads of Cultures: Southeastern Anatolia", which is open to the public starting today at the Massachusetts College of Art, is 45 portraits of Turkey taken between 1983 and 2003, featuring a region that Akduman says is at a cultural crossroads.
