- Synopsis:
-
- Gabriel the Turk, Bobby the Serb and Costa the Greek are three friends who used to form a neighborhood gang in Altona district of Hamburg. One for all, all for one. But much has changed since Gabriel went to prison. The day when Gabriel is finally released from prison, he's changed: during his sentence he has grown up and no longer wants to be mixed up in petty delinquency. His previous partners in crime cannot grasp Gabriel's decision. Costa keeps himself afloat through petty theft whilst Bobby dreams of a career in the local Mafia. Despite his girlfriend Alice's resistance and Gabriel's warnings, Bobby gets to know one of the Albanian Mafia godfathers, Muhammer Meanwhile, Gabriel and Alice fall in love, and despite their guilt, carry on a passionate affair behind Bobby's back... KURZ UND SCHMERZLOS takes us into the life of Hamburg's ethnic minority communities and the city's criminal milieu through three sympathetic characters, whose dreams of upward social mobility clash with reality.
